About Enrico:

Heritage & Roots
Enrico Marcato hails from a longstanding wine family based in Roncà, within Italy’s Veneto region. The Marcato family has been immersed in winemaking near Verona for well over 100 years, and Enrico grew up surrounded by this rich viticultural tradition.

Education & Craft Development
After his early experiences in the family vineyards, Enrico pursued formal education in oenology at the University of Milan, further refining his understanding of winemaking principles and methodologies.

"Family of Wine" Project & The Marcato Legacy
As both winemaker and creative force, Enrico leads the "Family of Wine" initiative—an umbrella for his various wine projects that aim to blend tradition with innovation. The name reflects his desire to share the culture and heritage of his home terroir with a broader audience. His approach is grounded in a deep connection to the land, with particular focus on the basaltic soils of the Lessini Hills and other unique characteristics of the Veneto terrain. Under the “i Prandi” label, for example, he produces Soave wines that speak clearly of their origin and showcase the natural minerality and elegance of the region.

Signature Wines & Philosophy
One standout wine is “Duo”, a red blend begun in 2012 and crafted using the appassimento method—drying grapes before fermentation. This project is a collaboration with winemaker Mirko Sella and melds varieties from both Verona and Vicenza. The result is a medium-bodied, deep-red wine characterized by red berry and damson notes, underscored by coffee-like depth and a lingering, well-structured.
