Local historian Sue Waldron was introduced to Jacksonville artist Regina Dorland Robinson in 1986 when she began working in the Exhibits Department of the Southern Oregon Historical Society (SOHS). In 2009, SOHS decided to produce the book “Lasting Impression” that featured many Dorland paintings. Sue spent several years collecting more details about the tragic young artist’s life. Join us to learn new information Sue Waldron found about Dorland, images of formerly unknown paintings and some information about her friend and mentor Stella Johnson and Dorland’s husband, Charles Pearson. The monthly Windows in Time lunchtime lectures feature well-known writers and historians and bring alive the people, values, and events that shaped our Southern Oregon heritage. Lectures are jointly sponsored by the Southern Oregon Historical Society (SOHS) and Jackson County Library Services. Programs are presented in Medford (first Wednesdays) and again in Ashland (second Wednesdays). Recordings of Medford presentations are available on the JCLS Beyond YouTube channel.
Please note these programs are no longer streaming live on Zoom.
