Looking for a fun and engaging way to keep your 8–12-year-olds learning this summer? Join History Cherokee for Wild Discovery Summer Camp, happening June 8-12, 2026, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. each day! Each day campers will explore a different history theme through STEAM-based activities that connect to the fascinating exhibits at the Cherokee County History Center. This week's daily themes are Transportation, River Science, Geology, Your Backyard, and Toys & Games. $30 per day or $120 for the whole week.Today's theme is Toys and Games. Long before Target and Walmart, store bought toys and games were rare and limited in many households. Toys were often homemade, and kids had to create their own games. Today, we'll make our own toys and see if we can create our games as well as play a few games that have been around for generations.
