WHY A STATUE OF JOHN MACLEAN?PUBLIC MEETING on Friday 1st May at the Old Burnt Barns, 179 London road, Glasgow, G40 1PA
Starts 7pm
Speakers include: Ron Culley, Professor Alan Riach, Dr. Yvonne Ridley, Tommy Sheridan, Micheal Donnelly and Donald Anderson - and a video from George Galloway.
Join us on Friday 1st May upstairs in the Old Burnt Barns for a public meeting which will address the reasons why there should be a statue of John Maclean in Glasgow.
The John Maclean statue campaign is well established and has been fundraising for the last couple of years. On 1st May the campaign will launch the next crowdfunder to raise the rest of the funds required to commission a life sized, bronze statue of Maclean to be erected at the Saltmarket.
This event will be chaired by the author Ron Culley who will open the meeting, before a number of speakers will address the question 'Why a statue of John Maclean?'. After the speeches there will be a question and answer session where attendees can find out more about the great man and how the campaign is going.
Join us to find out more about John Maclean and why it is crucial that we honour him and his legacy with a public statue. This meeting is open and all are welcome. Musicians who would like to perform are encouraged to get in touch via email:

We look forward to seeing everyone on Friday 1st May. #MacleanCampaign
