Whighams Jazz Club presents JORDAN JACKSON AND HER TRIO

We are beyond thrilled to welcome Copenhagen-based jazz and soul singer/songwriter and pianist Jordan Jackson to Whighams this week.
Having lit up stages across Europe, from Copenhagen Jazz Festival to Ronnie Scott's and The Jazz Café in London, Jordan been likened to Corinne Bailey Rae, Amy Winehouse, and Erykah Badu. Soothing and poetic, her songwriting explores love in all its forms - romantic, platonic and self-directed. Her self-penned album Back to Basics - mastered by Grammy Award-winner, Kevin Tuffy, was the culmination of eight years of writing, performing and heaps of artistic endeavour - noted for its warmth, melody and uplifting messages.
Tonight's performance will be in two parts - The first set will have Jordan on vocals singing some of her favourite straight-ahead jazz standards, accompanied by Campbell Normand (piano), Ed Kelly (double bass) and Kevin Dorrian (drums). The second set will see Jordan accompanying herself on piano -performing some of her self-penned material ( which we have to say is simply outstanding)
