Where Somatic Meets Clay: An Evening of Listening Through Form

Your body remembers things your mind has long stopped talking about. It holds grief in the shoulders, joy behind the ribs, old stories in places you've never thought to look. And sometimes, when we give it a little space and a little time, the body is ready to speak — not in words, but in shape.

This workshop is a quiet invitation to listen.

Together, we'll move gently through somatic practices — simple, grounding techniques that help you drop out of your head and into the felt sense of your body. From that softer, more honest place, we'll turn to the clay. Not to make something, but to let something appear. A form that reflects where you are tonight. A shape you didn't know was inside you.

There's a particular kind of alchemy in seeing an internal state become an external object. It can be tender. It can be surprising. It can be deeply releasing. The body holds, and the body lets go — clay is generous enough to receive both.

About me I'm a sculpture artist with years of experience in hand-building, and I've trained in trauma-informed therapeutic approaches and somatic practices that understand the body as both holder and releaser of emotion. I hold this space with care.

What to expect An intimate, candlelit evening with a small group. Gentle guidance, soft pacing, no pressure to produce anything "good." Just you, your breath, your hands, and the clay. You'll leave with a form that belongs only to you — and if you'd like it fired so you can keep it, you can leave it with me afterward (firing and optional glazing available for a small extra fee).

What's included Clay, tools, aprons, tea, and a held space. Please wear something comfortable that you don't mind getting a little dusty.
