"The little princess had very different ideas about serious things than older people." When did you change your mind about serious things? When did you stop looking with your heart and light your face with simple things? Our inner girl waits for us to rescue her from oblivion. She deserves to jump over puddles, play with sand, rock the waves, laugh with laughter, be enraptured by a flower, dream looking at the stars and believe that everything is possible. When will you rescue her? Rescuing your inner child is a great journey, perhaps the most important in your life. You can start at any time. The first step is to recognize that your child exists somewhere inside of you and be alert to her signals. Have you ever been upset by something that seems small to your adult mind, but resonates with your heart as very large? Have you ever hurt your loved one and felt something inside of you split in two? Have you ever felt lonely and helpless to the point of not being able to support yourself? And what do you tell me about your pain: has it ever overtaken you to the point of becoming suffering? I bet many of your answers are affirmative and in that case it is your inner girl who feels angry, alone, abandoned and hurt. We all have gone through moments like this. The pain that comes with it can be great and the desire for that pain to go away quickly, too.
