What We Think Horses Think (And Why They Don’t)📅 Sunday 22 March
⏰ 10.30am – 12.30pm
📍 West Craigie Farm
💷 £25 (includes tea, coffee & biscuits)
It’s very easy — and very human — to assume our horses think like we do.
We interpret behaviour through a human lens. We assign intention, emotion and motivation based on how we would feel in the same situation.
But horses don’t experience the world through a human brain. They experience it as prey animals with highly tuned nervous systems.
In this workshop, we’ll explore:
• Why we naturally project human thinking onto horses
• Where the human and horse brain are similar
• Where they are very different
• How stepping away from anthropomorphism changes the way we interpret behaviour
• How this understanding can reduce stress and improve communication
When we truly understand how horses process the world, everything shifts — from groundwork to ridden work to everyday handling.
This session will give you practical insights you can take straight back to your own horse, helping you work with their brain, not against it.
