An international forum in partnership with Region Normandy/Normandy pour la paix
About this Event

Organized by Guy Sorman, La Maison Française of NYU continues its partnership with Region Normandie/Normandie pour la paix for a second year in which a distinguished panel of scholars, academics, journalists, ambassadors, and diplomats join together to discuss the world's most intractable problems. Following up on prior editions wrestling with questions concerning the Concept of the Global South and Peace & War Between Nations, this year's panel will discuss the question of how international law, or what's left of it, can intervene to combat the runaway issues of war, poverty, wealth inequality, and more.

Panelists include François Priollaud (Vice-President of the Normandy Region of France, Chair of the Normandie pour la paix program based in Caen), S.E. Jérome Bonnafont (Permanent Representative of France to the United Nations), Jean-Marie Guéhenno (Professor at Columbia University, former French diplomat who served as the United Nations' Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations), Honorable Professor Ana Palacio (Former Minister of Spain, Professor at Georgetown University), Judith Miller (adjunct fellow at the Manhattan Institute, a City Journal contributing editor, a best-selling author, and a Pulitzer Prize–winning investigative reporter formerly with The New York Times), and Niagalé Bagayoko (political scientist, former professor at Sciences Po, current Chair of the African Security Sector Network). The panel will be moderated by Guy Sorman.
