An award-winning film from verd de gris arts."One of the most incredibly powerful films Iโve watched about suicide bereavementโ
After the death of her husband by suicide Gillian Brooks tried to make sense of the events and preserve memories for her children. So she wrote it down as a story.
Now her words have inspired a film made by Gillian and her family with the help of award-winning arts company verd de gris arts and filmmaker Geoff Brokate.
In partnership with Emmanuel and Claire from the British Urban Film Festival, and Alex Feather from Creative Minds, we are bringing this film to Halifax this Autumn, to open up the conversation about the pain of suicide loss, and the possibility of hope.
'What Remains' was screened to over 400 delegates from around the world at the International Suicide Bereavement Conference. It led to the successful development of suicide bereavement support groups across Central Lancashire, led by the film's author Gillian Brooks, who created Beside You In Bereavement CIC.
We hope to have family members Mary and Gill with us as guest speakers or a Q&A with Emmanuel ... please share widely and help us help those affected by 'a grief unlike any other ...'
