🌱 WHAT PLANTS NEED TO GROW SERIES

A 5-Part Hands-On Garden Adventure for Young Gardeners

Join us for a fun and interactive 5-part series where kids explore the five essential things every plant needs to grow: Sun, Soil, Water, Space, and Time. Each class is full of storytime, crafts, games, hands-on experiments, and yummy snacks — perfect for curious young gardeners!

🌞 Part 1: SUN

Plants need sunlight to grow big, strong, and green! Kids will learn about photosynthesis, read The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle, play a Plant Freeze Dance, create a Bright Sunny Day Tea Towel, and enjoy rainbow-themed healthy snacks.

🌱 Part 2: SOIL

Healthy soil is the cozy, nutrient-rich home for plants. Kids will read Up in the Garden, Down in the Dirt by Kate Messner, do a Mason Jar Soil Test, make a Beans & Seeds Collage, play Shadow Tracing, and enjoy a delicious Dirt Cake snack.

💧 Part 3: WATER

Water is a plant’s favorite drink! Children will read Lola Plants a Garden by Anna McQuinn, play Water the Garden Relay, explore water movement with celery and colored water experiments, make Rain Cloud Watercolor art, and snack on juicy melon skewers.

🌿 Part 4: SPACE

Plants need room to stretch and grow! Kids will read A Seed is Sleepy by Dianna Hutts Aston, navigate The Great Plant Obstacle Course, create a Give Me Space Garden Layout, play Plant Bingo, and enjoy Garden Cupcakes.

⏳ Part 5: TIME

Patience is key in gardening! Children will read Planting a Rainbow by Lois Ehlert, explore plant growth timelines, make a Plant Needs Mini Book, play Gotta Collect Them All garden hunt, and snack on popcorn in corn husks. This class wraps up the series with a fun reflection on everything plants need to grow.
