About this Event

Most organisations have people experimenting with AI. But adoption is uneven, informal, and often limited to the more tech-savvy. Meanwhile, departments like HR, sales, operations, finance, and customer service are sitting on enormous potential they haven't been shown how to unlock.

This session is for heads of departments, heads of function, senior practitioners, and business leaders who want to see what good looks like when AI is used deliberately within their teams. Not as a technical initiative led by IT, but as a practical shift in how everyday work gets done.

Through live walkthroughs and real examples drawn from work across multiple sectors and functions, we'll explore how AI can take on the mundane, the repetitive, and the drudgery, freeing people up to focus on what really matters: the thinking, the relationships, and the decisions that drive a business forward.

This is not a session about prompts, models, or tooling. It's a practical, experience-led look at the art of the possible when you view AI through your own department's lens. Expect to leave with approaches, frameworks, and workflows you can take back and apply immediately.

Who is this for?

Heads of departments or functions who want to see what AI can do for their teams. Senior practitioners responsible for team performance and output. Founders and scale-ups looking to move AI beyond experimentation. Technology leaders looking to better communicate change and build creative business cases for AI adoption across their organisation. Business leaders who are curious but unsure where to start. BCS members interested in practical, organisation-level adoption.

About Scott

Scott Quilter FBCS is an award-winning technology leader, digital transformation specialist, and Co-Founder of Techosaurus, with over 20 years' experience helping organisations turn technology into measurable business outcomes.

A Fellow of the British Computer Society and Industry Subject Matter Expert with GTIA, Scott works at the intersection of strategy, automation, and generative AI. He has led large-scale cloud transformations, designed automation frameworks for multi-sector organisations, and now advises businesses through roles with Business West and Innovate UK on aligning emerging technology with growth ambitions.

Known for his clear, jargon-free delivery style, Scott specialises in translating complex technology into practical, department-level action. Rather than focusing on tools or technical detail, he helps leaders see where AI fits within real workflows, how it supports decision-making, and how it can remove friction from everyday operations.

In this session, Scott draws on hands-on experience across HR, sales, operations, finance, and education to demonstrate what deliberate, organisation-level AI adoption looks like in practice. Attendees can expect grounded examples, live walkthroughs, and actionable frameworks designed to move AI from informal experimentation to structured, repeatable impact.
