About this Event
Calling all plant enthusiasts! Join us on a guided tour through the Refuge's many habitat types. On our walk, we'll stop to see, smell, touch, and even taste a variety of native plants that call the Refuge home. We'll also discuss the importance of native plants in supporting native animals, keeping our watersheds clean, and protecting humans from the effects of climate change.
This will be a leisurely hike, of a distance of around 0.8 miles, on mostly flat terrain.
This program is great for families and adults!

Address: Don Edwards SF Bay National Wildlife Refuge Environmental Education Center (EEC), 1751 Grand Blvd, Alviso (San Jose). We recommend using Google Maps to navigate to this address. Once turning onto Grand Blvd, drive slowly and carefully since the road is currently uneven, plus animals sometimes cross!
Facilities: Restrooms will be available in the form of portable toilets and handwashing stations in the parking lot. The trails we use will be mostly flat, and benches are available. With the exception of service animals, pets are not allowed in this part of the refuge.
What to bring: Sun protection (such as sunscreen, hat, sunglasses) and layers, sturdy closed-toe walking shoes, and filled water bottles.
