Explore the ancient art of Wet Felting and create a beautiful Bluebell Woodland picture using just wool, silk and plant fibres and a little soap and water.This workshop is suitable for those who are completely new to wet felting, or those who have felted before but wish to learn how to create a detailed picture with depth and perspective.
In this workshop, you will learn not only how to lay out the wool fleece, but also how to use layers of different breeds of fleece to create depth and texture and how to incorporate other natural materials such as yarn, silk and plant fibres to add detail. Then using just soap and water you will felt all the fibres together to create the final picture.
Finally your tutor, Karen, will discuss how additional techniques such as needle felting and free machine embroidery can be used later to embellish your artwork, once dry. Your finished picture will measure approximately 30x30cm.
If you have a favourite picture you would like to create, then do bring it along, otherwise Karen will have some examples for inspiration. All equipment and materials will be provided but please bring 2 hand towels plus a suitable bag to take your damp picture home in.
Places are limited to 9 to allow for individual attention, so do book early to avoid disappointment.
