The Westones are an Oakland-based supergroup blending heavy soul, funk, and R&B into a groove-driven, high-energy show. Featuring members who’ve toured with Dirtwire, Con Brio, Afrolicious, and more, the band is as fun to watch as they are to dance to—fans rave about the joy they bring to the stage. Fresh off the Fillmore in SF, festival main stages and a debut EP recorded at Hyde Street Studios, The Westones are quickly becoming one of California’s most exciting new live acts.
Animal Prince is the vintage-pop project from singer-violinist Fae Nageon de Lestang and percussionist Grant McLeod, ft. some of the Bay Area’s best artists. Fae’s vocals are a captivating instrument, drawing the listener into a landscape that’s playful yet polished, soulful but never self-serious, layered with string arrangements, synth grooves, hooks, harmonies and the occasional actual birdsong. Borrowing from bossa nova, indie folk, yacht rock and chamber pop, Animal Prince would be at home on a mix with Clairo, TOPS, Weyes Blood, or The Beach Boy’s Pet Sounds, but the sound is uniquely their own: tender, danceable and delightfully feral.
Izzy Wise is a dynamic multi-instrumentalist and DJ, renowned for his eclectic dance music that seamlessly traverses the musical and cultural landscapes of planet earth.With almost two decades of experience, Wise honed his craft in San Francisco, gracing legendary parties like Afrolicious and iconic venues such as The Independent, Monarch, and 1015 Folsom. His versatility extends to playing bass and horns in various groups, exploring genres as diverse as Turkish, Balkan, Cumbia, Brazilian, Salsa, Funk, and more. His relentless quest for unique rhythms and melodies has taken him to the jungles of Nicaragua and the mythical islands of the Caribbean Sea.When not capturing field recordings or performing live, Wise releases music on esteemed labels like Délicieuse Records, Lips & Rhythm, Mule Musiq, and Cafe Anatolia.
