?JAM Night! Get in a circle and spotlight different dancers as they cut it up surrounded by our cheering community! We'll take one song in the evening to create a circle and invite anyone willing to grab a partner and hop in the middle to cut it up for 20 seconds or so... this is a great community builder, competition prep experience and way to build confidence! Come hop in!

........WEEKLY ON GOING DETAILS........
FREE BEGINNER CLASS:
We're committed to spreading the luv! This is literally a free class to anyone who wants to learn to dance West Coast Swing! Every Week @ 7pm! If you're new to WCS we recommend taking these classes for at least 3 months. A good foundation will pay dividends!
INTERMEDIATE CLASS:
This is a 50 minute class taught by some of the best teachers in the world of WCS! You'll be expected to have a good command of all of the WCS Basics. We will not be going over basics in this class. We'll move quickly. We recommend going to class on Mondays @ Starlight Ballroom (South County) or with Swing Night Out (North County) to get a good foundation to build up to our Intermediate / Advanced Class. This class will be structured with the expectation that students have knowledge and decent command over these basics:
- Sugar Push
- Sugar Tuck
- Left Side Pass
- Right Side Pass
- Passing Tuck
- Whip
BEGINNER & INTERMEDIATE MIXER:
After classes end, we are going to ask our Intermediate Class Attendees to pay it forward by coming by and dancing with our Beginners. We were all there once! It's so important to support people coming up! We'll play a song and have everyone switch partners every 40 seconds or so. Helping those who are less apt to ask people to dance get some reps in with a ton of new people.
SOCIAL DANCE:
Our DJ's will take us on a different journey each week, with a variety of genres, BPMs and feels. We truly want to reframe how we interact with music. Every DJ brings their own vibe, and each is committed to playing something for everyone. We're not staying late. Our plan is to hit it hard for 3 hours with the intention of dancing our butts off. Come early! Go Hard!
........COMMUNITY FUNCTIONS........
Each week of the month we'll feature a different Community Function. We're going to keep the schedule flexible as this takes shape, but please expect that we'll all be engaging in socializing, intention building and education each night. We'd love your support and energy!

? BYOB Night: Bring Your Own Beginner Night is a night designed to let our community bring their non dancer (Muggle) friends to Westie Groove to try WCS for the 1st time! If they take the FREE Beginner Class then can also stay for the dance for FREE! And as a thank you for spreading the love of WCS, the dancers (Wizards) who brought their Muggle Friends will also get in FREE!
?Birthday Night: We celebrate any birthdays for that calendar month. If it's your Bday month, you get in FREE and you can bring your friends who haven't done WCS before to come take the class and stay for FREE! We'll also do birthday dances and get the birthday peeps out on the floor and take turns dancing with them.
?Huddle Night: We take a moment to stop the music gather around the DJ Booth and cover topics ranging from community education, goal sharing, history of WCS, challenges. A good community communicates. This is our time to do that.
?Event Kickoff: When there are conventions a bunch of us are gearing up for, we'll take that night to talk about that event, wear their swag and host something special that embodies that event.
........POLICIES & WAIVERS........
COVID & FLU / HEALTH POLICY:
We currently do not require masking, vaccinations or testing. Though if the situation back slides, we will readdress precautions that we feel are appropriate to the current situation. We strongly encourage vaccinations for both Covid and the Flu. Please know that partner dancing is potentially high risk activity and take that into account when you are accessing your personal risk level.
HEALTH COMMUNITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Be respectful to those who choose to wear masks or choose to only dance with friends.
- Wash your hands after using the restroom or blowing/wiping your nose.
- If you have Covid or Flu symptoms, do not attend.
- If you have tested positive for Covid or diagnosed with the Flu, do not attend for 5 days from diagnosis and mask as necessary.
- If you text positive for Covid within 7 days of attending our dance, report the positive test to us via email:
