Since its founding in 1977, WV Dance Company has evolved from a small ensemble rooted in Appalachian heritage into a nationally recognized touring company celebrated for its artistry, innovation, and educational outreach. Guided by a belief that dance has the power to connect and inspire, the company’s history reflects nearly five decades of creativity, collaboration, and commitment to enriching lives through movement.

Artists, yes. Athletes, certainly. But even more so, we are explorers, examining the world with curiosity, enthusiasm and compassion. We are humanists and scientists.

Through the art of movement, we share with our audiences intimate portraits of the human experience, energetic displays of the power of nature and vibrant images of the nuances of world cultures.
