Venture to West Main to step into the country to experiment with eggs, natural dyes and sketch some of the enchanting views found at . Together we will explore and turn everyday items into creative expressions.
is bringing an ag-and eco-based inquiry-driven, hands-on egg dying workshop to Black Mountain Ranch—and you are invited to get creative with the artists/educators from Connect the Dots who specialize in making art experiences engaging, accessible, and unforgettable. Using Natural Egg Dye you will use plants to stencil designs onto eggs. Red cabbage and yellow onions will turn into robin egg-blue and toasty cinnamon colors that are sure to please the palette. You’ll be directed on how to draw some West Marin plants and turn your creations into labels for the jam jars for you to transport your goods home safely.
Black Mountain Ranch and its expert ranch hands will take you on a guided hike that includes breath-taking views of West Marin and a visit to the pond. You’ll explore the barnyard to see the sheep and alpacas. The three-story barn doubles as an event space and includes a must-see Wool Studio. A light charcuterie board will please the senses and keep the energy going strong throughout the afternoon.
All participants will make art—they’ll observe, question, experiment, and connect creativity to eco and ag-based awareness and creations. Expect curiosity, collaboration, and plenty of “whoa, that worked?!” moments.
