WNBR World Naked Bike Ride London - Wellington Arch startFREE! Assemble from 13:45 to ride off at 14:15
Dress code: as bare as you dare but keep your shoes on.
Wellington Arch is a replacement for the usual Hyde Park start, which is not available yet again this year as the areas we use will be in use for parking vehicles for a commercial venture!
Wellington Arch is in the middle of the large roundabout outside the bottom right/south east corner of Hyde Park near Hyde Park Corner. Do not confuse it with Marble Arch (the wrong place to go) which is top right/north east of the park.
You don't need to sign up to participate in WNBR London. You just need to be in the right place at the right time with a bike to ride. But we encourage you to sign up for this event so that you can invite other friends and stay in touch. It also helps us estimate numbers.
Everything you need to know will be published on our website, and if you're on our mailing list you should receive any important updates.
Participation is free but please donate! The ride is made possible by volunteer helpers and generous donations from our participants. No one is paid for running WNBR London, but we do have some significant expenses like security, radio comms hire, road closure fees, website, insurance, printing, marshals' ID, etc. It's got to be worth a tenner or more! The World Naked Bike Ride is a global protest movement with rides in cities around the world, raising awareness of issues such as safety of cyclists on the road, reducing oil dependence and saving the planet. Let's make the planet great again!
WNBR’s themes are to:
- protest against the global dependency on oil
- curb car culture
- obtain real rights for cyclists
- demonstrate the vulnerability of cyclists on city streets
- celebrate body freedom
As well as promoting healthy life choices it can also be the best fun you can ever have on two wheels. The London ride has the excitement of a carnival, with big crowds to cheer it on. It is a "naked bike ride" but you can be "as bare as you dare" - body painting and fancy dress are welcome. It is fun, legal and all in a worthy cause.
