When: Every Monday (July 14-September 29 from 10-10:30 a.m.; after September 29 from 12:15-12:45 p.m.)Where: We’ll meet at the Clifton Branch Library front porch and depart for our walk at 12:15pm.
This program is weather-permitting, and walks will last approximately 30 minutes.
All bodies and abilities are welcome.
No registration required.
The first Monday of each month, experts from the Osher Center for Integrative Health at the University of Cincinnati will lead a special Shinrin-Yoku (Forest Bathing) experience during our walk. A practice originating in Japan, shinrin (“forest”) yoku (“bath”) means bathing in the forest atmosphere or taking in the forest through our senses. It is simply being in nature, connecting with it through our senses of sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch. Barbara Walker, PhD, and Kelly Lyle, MHA, MS, from the Osher Center are certified INFTA-Certified Forest Therapy Guides and will teach you skills to enhance your experience & well-being, including stronger immune system, lower blood pressure, decreased cortisol levels, improved mood, better sleep, and increase vigor, focus, & energy.
