About this Event
This gentle 2.8km route follows the Foudry Brook along its course to meet the Kennet and Avon Canal at Fobney Lock.
The peaceful and picturesque nature reserve of Fobney Island is a wetland haven for nature. As we walk along the towpath, we can enjoy the sights and sounds of the river and views of the surrounding meadows and trees along the opposite bank. We may be lucky enough to spot kingfishers, herons, cormorants and other birdlife that is in abundance here.
The walk is 45-50 minutes from 12.30 to 1.15 pm. We will start at the reception area of 100 Longwater Avenue . There is free parking on the top level of the car park at 100 Longwater.
This Walk Works walk is sponsored by the Events Team at Green Park. They are delighted to be supporting Reading Climate Action Festival and are proud of their biodiversity status and environmental focus.
Walk Works requires all attendees to fill out a waiver for insurance purposes.
