Detachable body parts? Gender swapping fish? Acrobatic displays of affection?! That lady hyena has a what now?? The Kingdom Animalia boasts a wide array of types of animals. Alongside that level of diversity, animals have evolved some pretty bizarre means for ensuring the continuation of their species. This talk will discuss some of the more unexpected ways animals reproduce.
We will discuss members across the animal kingdom - including mammals, sea creatures, and bugs. Descriptions of body parts and behaviors will be discussed alongside imagery, so this event is best suited for adults.
This class will be taught by Alexx (she/they). Alexx has been educating learners of all ages about animals and environmental science for many years. She has worked in zoos, nature centers, and animal sanctuaries. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Behavior from Hampshire College and a MSW in Animal-Assisted Social Work from the University of Denver. Their fascination with the bizarre and love of animals led them to begin researching into the weird ways animals procreate. Join her at Skål for an evening of educational weird animal sex facts!
