About this Event

Take on one of the most iconic hikes in New York at Breakneck Ridge. This challenging trail features steep climbs and rugged terrain, perfect for adventure seekers. Conquer the summit at golden hour and enjoy a stunning Hudson River sunset—a truly unforgettable New York hiking experience. Pack your headlamp and wear your best hiking shoes for this adventure!

Pack your favorite sandwich and drink, we will have a snack break on the trail.

  • Difficulty: Challeging. This hike, due to the challenges of hiking in the dark, is suitable for experienced hikers who can maintain a brisk pace.
  • Hiker Skills: Active person with basic fitness. Comfortable with long walks and some uphill sections.
  • Elevation Gain: 1,073 ft (327 mt)
  • Highest Elevation: 987 ft (301 mt)
  • Lowest Elevation: 20 ft (6 mts)
  • Distance: 5 mi (8 Km) – We'll walk an extra mile (1.6 Km) from the train station to the trailhead.
  • Hiking Time: 3h. This could change according to the group pace.
