About this Event

Program Description

What if the questions we ask not just of our patients, but of ourselves, hold the key to healing?

On November 4, 2025, 1:30-5:30 PM at the New York Academy of Medicine, we invite you to a unique gathering of minds and hearts, where curiosity takes center stage not as a luxury, but as a clinical tool, a protective force against burnout, and a wellspring of meaning in our professional and personal lives.

In this three-hour CME-accredited program, three remarkable physicians, Dr. Mick Krasner, pioneer of mindfulness in medicine; Dr. Lisa Sanders, internist and celebrated New York Times storyteller; and Dr. Donald Moore, community physician and wellbeing advocate, will share personal reflections from the frontlines of care. Through story, science, and shared experience, they will explore how curiosity can deepen connection, sharpen insight, and sustain us in the sacred work of healing.

Come with your questions. Leave with new ones and a rekindled sense of why you chose medicine in the first place.

A post-event reception and cocktail hour will follow, offering space to continue the conversation with our speakers and fellow attendees.

Learning Objectives:
  • Examine real clinical cases and physician stories to explore how curiosity can improve diagnosis, strengthen patient relationships, and lead to better health outcomes.
  • Assess how curiosity supports clinician wellbeing and helps prevent burnout by looking at research, mindfulness practices, and real-world experience.
  • Create ways to use curiosity in daily clinical work—like asking reflective questions or being more patient-focused—to increase connection, meaning, and engagement.
