Wear something comfortable to dance in. Any shoe that has a smooth suede, smooth leather sole, or less traction that will allow you to glide across the smooth finish of a ballroom dance floor is suitable for dance. There are some turns, spins, and pivots dance that requires the glide of a smooth sole.
