Wednesday Birding in Prospect Park to benefit South Brooklyn Mutual Aid

Birding to benefit . For nature lovers of all backgrounds and experiences- no birding experience necessary.

Some species we may observe, see, or hear on this outing include Dark-eyed Juncos, Golden-crowned Kinglets, several woodpecker, sparrow, and raptor species, and more! Butterflies are also waking up and on the move, and local flora is beginning to bud and bloom. Exact route may change depending on conditions.

If you would like to borrow a pair of binoculars, please contact us at least 24hrs before the event.

Dress warmly for 4/8! It will be chilly.

Accessibility:

• We will stick to paved roads as much as possible. There may be some slight inclines, declines or uneven surfaces due to exposed roots or plants, but we will try to stick to paved surfaces as much as possible.
• We will also take breaks and can rest as needed, and there may be benches along the way.
• There are some portapotties along the way, as well as bathrooms in a few areas of the park. For a list of all Prospect Park public bathrooms, please visit their website.

Land acknowledgement: We recognize and appreciate that Prospect Park lies on land that has been stewarded by generations of the Canarsie and Munsee Lenape People. Today many of their descendants live in and around NYC and the Northeast.
