About this Event
Discover new ways to convey the beauty of flowers while also learning about the life, process, and inspiration of UK floral artist, Emily Powell.
This class will share expressive techniques that you can use to create dreamy flowers. Learn to stay loose and playful through layering and mark making. Paint a field, a bouquet or a single flower. This class will put you in the mood for Spring!
Join us as we explore:
- Making a cohesive color palette
- Prompts for getting loose with a subject matter
- Embracing the imperfect, intuition, and a sense of play
- Knowing when you’re finished with your abstract flowers
If you want to paint a one-dimensional still life floral, this class is not for you. If you love artwork that has soul, character and whimsy, this is the perfect workshop for you!
Drawing skills not required.
Students will walk away with a very expressive abstract painting to admire at home—and the best part: these flowers that will never wilt and can be enjoyed forever.
