Westie Evolution Boston is proud to present: Summer Swing Soiree! This month's dance is all about celebrating summer and getting hyped for one of our local Boston events: Summer Hummer (https://summerhummerboston.com/)! PLUS, we have special guest instructors, Jesse Lopez & Ariel Peck, joining us for the evening! They will run two back-to-back intermediate workshops from 7-9pm:
✨✨✨7p: The Grammar of WCS ✨✨✨
Important, to construct meaning, intention it is, yes, every language, hmmm, the words’ order—important, rearranged must they be, understand you will.
Yoda speaks English, but not correctly. Grammar matters.
In this game-changing workshop, you’ll learn to organize your West Coast Swing principles of grammar — the individual pieces that make up WCS patterns. Discover the Leader and Follower responsibilities to travel, objective, and anchor to create meaning in motion, and walk walk away with a system that helps you communicate clearly, consistently, and with confidance.
✨✨✨8p: Followers Speech✨✨✨
Calling all follows: it’s time to take up space. This workshop centers your voice — the kinetic, rhythmic, beautifully nuanced language expression you bring to every dance. We’ll explore how to receptively interpret and interactively speak back with your body, while staying in flow with your partner. Not just permission, and more presence. We are talking about communication. Your bodies language is the art — let’s turn up the volume.

If you're new to West Coast Swing or want to refresh your basics, join Nic Shepard in his beginner lesson from 8-9pm.
Then, let's dance together with our fabulous DJs: Kaesh Shepard and Maria Flores! They'll be spinning tunes that will keep us dancing all night long, including some "Songs of the Summer" throwbacks!

PARKING/TRANSPORTATION:
Public transit info: Commuter rail: take the Fitchburg line and get off at Waltham station. Be aware the last inbound train leaves Waltham at 10:04
Bus: Take the MBTA 70 bus from University Park (Kendall Square), get off at Carter St @ Waltham Commuter Rail Station. There is an inbound bus that leaves at 11:29 PM.
If the train or bus schedules don’t quite work with our hours, we recommend getting there early and eating dinner on Moody Street, which has an excellent variety of restaurants!
For those driving, parking is available in any of the nearby public parking lots and is free after 6pm (Walnut or Chestnut Street). Otherwise, there is street parking.
