This is the first of a four-part series learning Weaving Fundamentals. Weaving for the Soul will teach people how to weave baskets using different techniques and a variety of natural fibers.Dates for these classes are as follows:

Individual session details:
Session 1:
Tatza, traditional bread baskets, are made from dried green sticks, usually willow or reed.
Session 2:
This class will teach students to work with natural fibers to create cordage and craft a braided trivet.
Session 3:
Students will use a round basket weave to begin making a garden hat with the allotted time. Some students may not finish in 2 hours, but each participant will be equipped with the supplies and confidence to finish at home.
Session 4:
Needling, or pine needle coiling, is an ancient technique that uses pine straw and thread to create durable weaves. Traditionally, a piece of bone is used to hold needles together during work, students will use a metal tube with a 1/2 in inner diameter and will make a pencil holder.
