About this Event
Marion County EMA is excited to host this Spotter Talk being presented by the Indianapolis NWS Office. With Severe Weather season approaching, this is useful (if not critical) information for members of the community. The ability to observe and identify severe weather allows for extra time to get to safety. Being connected to the National Weather Service allows you to share those observations to enhance forecasting, modeling, and warning of increasingly severe weather. By knowing these skills, you provide "ground truth" data.
For those that are also licensed amateur radio operators, you are able to connect with other Spotters as part of the Central Indiana SKYWARN to collectively provide a network of reports from across Central Indiana.
There is limited seating. So, grab your seat soon and we look forward to seeing you there.
