But are there other ways of looking at death - an altered existence, or a new beginning? Together, let's explore the myths, the stories, and the science of what we fear most - the end.

Micaiah Johnson: Micaiah Johnson is a Brooklyn-based author and scholar. Her novels have been featured in the New York Times and on NPR’s Best Science Fiction of the Decade list, with starred reviews from The Library Journal and Kirkus.
Dr. Susanna Martinez-Conde: Susana Martinez-Conde is an award-winning neuroscientist, the creator of the Best Illusion of the Year Contest, and the author of the popular science books “Champions of Illusion” and “Sleights of Mind.”
Leah Richards: Leah Richards is a professor of English at LaGuardia Community College, CUNY; editor of Supernatural Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Art, Media, and Culture; a theater reviewer for Thinking Theater NYC; and a scholar of horror and the Gothic, primarily in film.
Claire Cooney: C. S. E. Cooney is a two-time World Fantasy Award-winning author, an audiobook narrator, and a game designer. Find her website, Substack newsletter, and various social media under “csecooney.”

Who are the Brooklyn Speculative Fiction Writers?
We are a Fractured Atlas Sponsored critique group for writers of speculative fiction, dedicated to raising the work of our members to a publishable, professional level. Even though the group is based in Brooklyn, many of our writers come from the other boroughs of the greater New York City metropolitan area, New Jersey, and even Massachusetts.
