Come and help us explore the health of our local waters!
About this Event

Come and help us explore the health of our local waters, as part pf Citizen's Science River Monitoring & Research initiative.

Using easy-to-use Water Rangers test kits, we’ll check the water quality of our local stream and then upload the results to a global citizen science database.

By keeping track of changes over time, we might also spot signs of pollution if they happen.

No experience needed – just bring your curiosity and be ready to get hands-on by the water.

SmartRivers

At WWT we are working to create a network of SmartRivers by assessing aquatic invertebrates, collecting high-quality, scientifically robust data that supports conservation efforts and informs decision-making to improve river management in the local area.

About Project SPONGE

With changes in our climate and environment, the risk of flooding has increased.

Project SPONGE uses natural techniques to absorb and control water, reintroducing nature into our surroundings to help make our community more resilient to future floods.

We've brought together communities, conservation charities, and flood specialists to address specific concerns and work as a team to tackle these issues.

Visit for more information about the project and to get involved.

About Wildfowl and Wetland Trust (WWT)

WWT is a leading wetland restoration charity, focused on unlocking the power of wetlands – to help nature burst back to life. WWT is working within the area to bring ‘Future-Proofed Neighbourhoods’ to Slough. This means bringing together residents, to act as one, for a stronger and more sustainable response to the climate and nature crises.
