Join us as we take a tour along historic S. Washington Street and portions of W. Windsor Street! The tour will involve walking and standing for long periods. Children under the age of 15 must have an adult present. The majority of houses present along Washington Street were constructed in the late 1800s - mid-1900s. Many of Monroe’s early prominent historical figures resided along Washington and Windsor Street. This tour will discuss these figures and highlight the houses they lived in.
We are offering tours of the same area twice to accommodate more guests. We will meet at the city parking lot in front of the Bazemore Active Adult Center at the corner of Charlotte Ave. & Jefferson St.
First Tour: Wednesday, May 13 at 5:30 p.m.
Second Tour: Saturday, May 30 at 9:00 a.m.
While registration is not required for these walking tours, we'd love to know if you will be joining us! Consider registering online at www.monroenc.org/preservation-month or email Patrick Blaszyk at [email protected].
