This program will take place at the John E. Pechmann Fishing Education Center at 7489 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304.Fly-fishing isn’t just for the cold mountain streams; great fishing can be had year-round in North Carolina’s warm water lakes, ponds and rivers (and it’s not just about poppers)! Join the John E. Pechmann Fishing Education Center as we explore fly-fishing opportunities for a multitude of fish species in any season.
Topics covered will include:
-Commonly targeted warm water fish species and their behavior
-Gear choices
-Fly-fishing techniques for warm water species
-Learn the oval cast for large flies and sinking lines
This workshop will be teaching intermediate fly-casting skills and basic casting skills will be required to register. As such, the Basic Fly-fishing Workshop or Basic Fly-casting Workshop is a prerequisite for this class. All equipment and materials will be provided.
You must be at least 14 years old to attend, and participants that are 15 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Close-toed shoes, a hat with a visor, and eye protection are required for this workshop.
