About this Event
Our theme, STRONG! – “Finding Strength in God,” is rooted in the beautiful promise of Proverbs 31:25:
“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”
This year’s Wandsworth Women’s Brunch is an invitation into a safe, sacred, life-giving space where we discover what Godly strength really looks like. Not the strength demanded by society, but the strength freely given by the One who loves us.
We know the word strong can carry a heavy history, especially for Black women. Too often, it has been used to dismiss our pain, minimise our humanity, or place unfair burdens on our backs. For some, the word echoes survival during slavery, Jim Crow, and generations of being told to endure without being allowed to break. But this year, we are reclaiming and redefining that word!
We are declaring that STRONG does not mean hard-hearted, unsupported, superhuman or strength rooted in flesh. It does not mean we must carry everything alone.
We are rebranding STRONG to mean this:Finding our strength in God alone.
Because the truth is:
•It’s not by might.
•It’s not by power.
•It’s by His Spirit that we stand.
Life tries in many ways to wear us down. Some of us show up with wounds, with weariness, with memories that still ache. Some of us walk in with a limp, emotionally, spiritually, or physically. Yet, by the grace of God, we are still standing.
Not because we are invincible, but because His strength holds us together.
Even when life overwhelms us, God comes closer. Even when we feel weak, He is mighty.
As Scripture reminds us: “My strength is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)
This brunch is a celebration of that truth:

💞 A space to rest, breathe, and be renewed by God’s presence.
