About this Event
This event will include a site tour of beaver dam analogs (BDAs), post-assisted log structures (PALS), and headcut repair treatments. We will meet at the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education parking lot and carpool ~0.2 miles up dirt roads to the site location.
Process-based restoration (PBR) is a holistic approach to restoring degraded watersheds that aims to re-establish natural processes, such as sediment transport, to restore creek function. In September 2025 and March 2026, we worked with partners to implement PBR structures on Walters Creek to help improve its function and habitat. For more information on Walters Creek PBR, visit our blog on the project.
Please bring shoes you feel comfortable hiking around on uneven surfaces, water, and snacks if needed. No bathrooms are available on site, and ticks and poison oak are present in some areas. Attendees will need to sign a waiver before carpooling to the site.
