What’s this about?
Since the opening of WTS in 2024, we have incorporated feedback from artists, community members, and the experiences of staff to evolve programs and support communities in movement building. When Pablo Mendoza, our co-founder, was beginning to transition from the organization, it sparked a discussion on leadership succession, compensation equity, and the opportunity to move beyond traditional leadership models.
We want to explore the possibilities of developing a “leader-full” organization that creates opportunities for communities impacted by incarceration and movement artists to shape the direction of WTS. We’re asking our stakeholders — folks like you who have participated and/or led projects and events — to break bread with us and envision the next many years together.
