We take a sacred walk through London and greet the seven centres in the land and within you. We'll talk on June, its gifts and insights.
About this Event

Take a sacred walk through hidden London with me. A pilgrimage through the fascinating city landscape of London.

The exact route we will take will be revealed closer to the time, as it comes from the place and where we are all in that moment. Revealed two weeks prior to the walk, the starts are either the Tower of London or the Globe Theatre. The London Stone is used as a marker as it marks the heart of the City of London and is often a focus for any of the walks I do. It is NOT the official meeting place.

You will get an email or notification of the route.

The Festival of Litha, Saura or the Festival of Joy (June 21st) celebrates the midsummer point and that time of the year when the sun is at its highest point and the light is with us for its longest period.

It is a time we celebrate the light and through fire, mark the power of the light to create joy in all things. There is an exuberance to this time of year in nature, as all the trees are completely in leaf and the colour is intense, as it soaks up the light.

We see all our work growing and changing, as the symbol of fire that dominates this period leading up to the festival, is the fire that gifts us three insights to move our work on. They are the fires that release, that rejuvenate and that ripen.

It is our opportunity in this festival to release that we need for our continued growth. You maybe more drawn to the phoenix energy of the rejuvenation, where what we are working on needs to change to work at a higher level and the fire transforms it as part of our onward journey. Lastly, we will all be working with the fires that ripen. Seeing this fire and igniting it on this festival to bring us in to the coming months the energy of ripening what we are working on to a stage where we can experience fulfilment for our endeavours.

Pilgrimage.

London-based landscape designer Jeremy Rye will be leading guided tours of the four London walks that were known to Kings and Queens since the beginning of the monarchy in England.

These spiritual walks were undertaken by the monarchs and the landscape keepers of the time. They would journey at specific points in their reign, at certain times of the year or for the marking of events. These were not only a means of navigating a city but seen as instrumental in maintaining its health, spiritual and commercial success.

Unlike a typical history tour, this is an opportunity for participants to mirror these spiritual journeys, in part to strengthen our sense of self, answer questions we have and to transform. They are an ideal companion to other self-reflection practices such as journaling, therapy or meditation.

Jeremy Rye is a practicing landscape architect who integrates history and spirituality in his work.

Route:

This is one of five sacred walks in London that crosses the city and will start at the Tower of London and end at Westminster Abbey. There will be seven stops made along the way where Jeremy will both point out historic architectural features, their history and their connection to a spiritual question. Participants are invited to use these stops not only to listen but find answers for themselves.

Accessibility:

The walk will take on average 3 hours with a break and is not wheelchair accessible.

The walk will take part no matter the weather and tickets are non-refundable.

Meeting point:

Tower Hill Terrace

The Tower of London

EC3N 4EE
