Walk the Square for World Parkinson’s Day 2026
Parkinson’s Manawatū Support Group is proud to acknowledge World Parkinson’s Day 2026 with a community walk around The Square, Palmerston North, starting at 10.00am (rain or shine).
As the day begins in New Zealand, Palmerston North will be among the very first places in the world to mark World Parkinson’s Day, leading global awareness from the Manawatū.
This inclusive, family-friendly event aims to raise understanding of Parkinson’s disease and highlight the long-term impact it has on those living with the condition, along with their families, carers, and supporters.
The walk is free to attend, with optional donations welcomed on the day via QR code. All donors will have the opportunity to win a wide range of prizes generously provided by local supporting businesses.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Palmerston North community for its ongoing support, with Mitre 10 Mega as our lead sponsor, and valued contributions from Multimedia and Davies Walter.
Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition that affects each person differently. While there is currently no cure, treatment, support, and trusted information are available—and events like this help ensure no one faces Parkinson’s alone.
