About this Event
Walk with Us for a Cause!
Open to all ages, this youth-led event is a powerful opportunity to support mental health awareness and foster meaningful dialogue. Hosted by Wake County 4-H Teen Council and benefiting the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Wake County, the Walk for Mental Health raises awareness and funds to support individuals, families, and communities facing mental health challenges.
Event Highlights:
- Enjoy a scenic and accessible walk at Historic Oak View County Park, with a path that starts at the Wake County Extension Building, circles through the park, and returns to the Extension.
- Educational displays: Participants can learn about pressing teen mental health burnout challenges through informative exhibits created by members of the Wake County 4-H Teen Council.
- Community engagement: The walk is more than a procession—it's an opportunity for participants to take part in activities and conversations that build awareness, foster a supportive environment, and address the stigma of mental health.
- Informational resources: The event aims to connect people with mental health resources and raise awareness for a stronger support system within the community.
- Refreshments and snacks: In addition to the walk and activities, snacks will be provided for all participants.
