Walk and Workshop | Making Nature Zines and Journals

Ever wanted to try nature journaling but don't know where to start? Zabby Allen will guide you, showing you how to make your own nature zines from simple materials in an unintimidating way.

Join us for a walk from the Linnean Society to St James' Park, where you'll have time to explore on your own, noticing the sights and sounds of nature and taking notes and photos to use in your journals. Zabby will share some prompts to help you connect with the natural world around you, as well as some facts and folklore about the things we come across.

We'll then head back to the Linnean Society to look at some examples of nature journals and make our own nature zines, made from one sheet of paper.

All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own art supplies or journals.

Note: the walk will be about 1.5 hours and the indoor journaling session will also be about 1.5 hours.

is a naturalist who writes a weekly Substack newsletter called Nature Notice Board. She's a keen nature journaler and zine-maker and studied Book Arts at London College of Communication. She is a freelance designer and editor of The Happy Newspaper, as well as a London National Park City Ranger and chairperson of Wild South London.
