Born into a family of composers, singers, and musicians, Baider Al-Basri studied Arabic singing, ballet, and theatre in Syria. She went on to study opera at the Royal Conservatory in the Netherlands, as well as performing arts at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.
She has performed solo concerts with many international orchestras, such as the Metropole Orchestra, where she performed four musical works that were specifically composed for her by the Dutch composer Theo Hoek.
