The plunge is back, the costumes are back, and the madness is back at Waihī Beach!Join us at 12:30pm on Saturday 11 July for one of Waihī Beach’s favourite winter events - a wild, fun, mid-winter dash into the sea with costumes, laughs, cheering from the beach, and plenty of classic Polar Plunge energy.
Go all out and plunge. Throw on a costume and make a day of it. Or stay dry and come down to watch the action, cheer people on, and soak up the atmosphere. However you do it, this is one of those events that brings the beach to life in the middle of winter.

So grab your whānau, your mates, your work team or sports team and start planning now. Loud, clever, chaotic, hilarious - the more effort, the better.
The event is hosted by Waihī Beach Lifeguard Services Inc., with volunteer surf lifeguards supporting the day. Then once you’ve braved the chill, head up to The Deck Kitchen and Bar to warm up with hot mulled wine, hot chocolates, coffee and hot food.
Koha/Gold Coin donation if possible please to support lifeguarding.
