The Kaimai School PTA Winter Hunting Competition is back for 2026.This much-loved community event is all about bringing families, friends, and local hunters together for a fun winter weekend while raising funds for Kaimai School. Whether you are heading out with your mates, taking the kids along, or simply keen to be part of a great local event, this is a fantastic way to enjoy the outdoors and support our school.
With categories for both adults and children, plenty of prizes up for grabs, and a great community atmosphere at weigh-in and prizegiving, there is something for everyone.

The event opens at 3:00pm on Wednesday 8 July 2026.
Weigh-In Details
Weigh-in will take place from 10:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday 11 July 2026 at:

All animals must be in the weigh-in line no later than 1:00pm sharp. Late entries will not be accepted under any circumstances.
Entry Fees
Adult Entry: $50
Includes Deer and Pig categories, Most Possums and Most Rabbits
Child Entry (Under 15): $20
Includes Possum and Rabbit categories
If a child wishes to enter the Pig or Deer categories, the adult entry fee must be paid.
This is an individual competition only. No team entries are permitted.
Registrations close at 12:00pm on Saturday 4 July 2026.
