About this Event
Waffle Games is the EGD's flagship annual convention and conference held each spring semester run by students, for students. This event is a collaborative effort to redefine what it means to be involved in games and their communities. We fight for affordable games industry education, the legitimization of esports on college campuses, and the recognition of games as an art form. Attending, exhibiting, and competing are always 100% free and open to all.
What is there to do at the event?
- Panels & workshops hosted by industry professionals, hobbyists, and people like you. From career advice about breaking into games to how to make the best D&D map!
- IRL expo hall with so many exhibitors to interact with! Play their games, try their products, and ogle at their art while you try to convince yourself that you don't need another fanart print of your favorite characters!
- No entry fee tournaments, including Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Valorant, and Dance Central 3!
- Free-to-enter and donation raffles, where you could win merch, games, or something bigger...
- Networking opportunities. Chat and meet with peers and industry professionals.
- One-shot RPG campaigns for both beginner and experienced players.
- Free-play gaming. Relax with your friends on IRL Saturday to play games from our library of consoles and board games, and hop in our Discord server on Virtual Sunday for some sessions of Jackbox Party Pack, Gartic Phone, and more!
- Free waffles!! (Wouldn't be "Waffle Games" without it, right?)
