Join us for an impactful and rewarding challenge at Riverlea Reserve in Whenuapai! Our beautiful reserve has seen significant improvements thanks to dedicated volunteers, but we face a pressing issue with rampant rubbish dumping. This event will focus on tackling the trash down a steep slope that has accumulated over time.
Event Details:
- Challenge Level: Medium - High – This cleanup involves navigating a steep slope, so it’s best suited for those in good physical condition. We’ll be employing creative techniques like a human chain and ropes to safely transport the rubbish up the hill.
- What to Bring: Please bring sturdy closed-toed shoes (gumboots are preferred), water, and some gardening gloves if you have them. We’ll provide all other necessary equipment.
- Safety First: Due to the challenging nature of the slope, we’ll limit participants to 50 and will implement health and safety measures. A rain date will be set for the 3rd of Oct to ensure we avoid working on slippery, wet terrain.
