About this Event
The MSO Middle School STATE Tournament brings together talented students from across Baltimore for a full day of hands‑on, challenge‑based STEM events. We rely on dedicated volunteers and judges to help make this tournament a meaningful and inspiring experience for every student.
Volunteer Roles Include
- Event setup and check‑in
- Guiding teams between events
- Timing and scoring support
- General event assistance throughout the day
- Helping with awards and cleanup
Judge Responsibilities
- Evaluating student performance in specific STEM events
- Scoring written tests, lab activities, engineering builds, or problem‑solving tasks
- Following event rules and scoring rubrics (training provided)
- Providing a fair, supportive, and encouraging experience for students
Important for Judges
If you are interested in serving as a judge:
- Review the attached image showing all available event areas
- Select the event(s) you are most interested in judging during registration
- This helps us assign judges early and ensure each event is fully staffed
Transportation
- Transportation will be provided for volunteers and judges (from the school premises)
- Details and pickup times will be shared after registration
Food
- There will be food provided for all volunteers and judges
