About this Event
Using previously unpublished photographs from personal collections that intimately depict the ups and downs of their daily lives, Helen Frost explores the quirky and unusual world of the Great War Land Girl. Helen's talk will be based upon her book Voices From The Great War Women's Land Army which uncovers the little known stories of enterprising women of the First World War who showed a devotion to duty and a fighting spirit comparable to the men doing battle in foreign lands. Helen's research brings these remarkable individuals to life so that they can earn our admiration and respect. This talk is for all those who love history and stories of human endeavour.
