FLOWERS IN CONCRETE (Hardcore Punk Weiz / AT)
Wovon lebt diese Branche, wenn nicht von der Leidenschaft?“ Leidenschaft haben sie die drei Herren mittleren Alters, die nach 15 Jahren Bandpause 2018 wieder ihre Instrumente umgeschnallt haben, um ihre melodische Version von Hardcore-Punk wieder auf die Bühnen der Alpenrepublik zu bringen. Nach der Split 7“ mit „Hella Comet“ (2018) und der Spit-LP mit den Wiener von „Dim Prospects“ im Jahr 2020 kommen hier zwei neue, gewohnt politische Tracks von „Flowers in Concrete“ – auch dieses Mal wieder auf Vinyl gepresst (und allen digitalen Plattformen). Chorgesang, melodische Stimme und Schreigesang wechseln sich genau so wie groovige Teile mit genreüblichem Geprügel ab. „Alte Freundschaft wird zu Schmerz. Getrennte Wege anstatt Nähe.“ heißt es im Refrain von „Propaganda“. Ein Satz, der wohl auf die meisten von uns in den letzten Jahren zutrifft. Eine Situation, die wir fast alle kennengelernt haben. So wird sich – wie immer bei „Flowers in Concrete“ – an Tagesaktuellem, Sozialkritischem, aber auch Persönlichem abgearbeitet. Das Gesehene in Parolen eingängig verpackt. Mitsingfaktor garantiert.
