About this Event
This session aims to increase understanding of how visual means can be used to develop comprehension and aid expression in children with speech, language and communication needs. The course will cover the use of visual support and approaches such as Aided Language Stimulation (ALS).
Aims:
- To increase understanding of the use of visual means to develop comprehension and aid expression for children with complex needs
- To describe the uses of approaches such as Makaton and Aided Language Stimulation (ALS)
Ideal for:
Teachers and support staff in Early Years/Foundation Stage, mainstream, partnership and specialist inclusive learning centres who support children with communication differences.
Please note: This course will be run as an online training session via Microsoft Teams. When you book, you will receive information about how to access the training and how the session will be run.
Please note that our training courses and workshops are designed to be interactive, to ensure participants get the most from the session. With this in mind, we ask that you check to ensure that both your camera and microphone are working prior to the course.
Please note each person attending the training needs to purchase an individual ticket. Several participants may join the training from the same device but each participant must have purchased an individual ticket. Additional participants who have not bought a ticket are not allowed to sit and watch the training, either in or out of the camera view. Additional participants in the room, who have not purchased a ticket, will be asked to leave.
